Nursing professionals at Boca Raton Community Hospital and elsewhere keep pace with rapid advances in technology, new care protocols and disease state management, changes in the delivery of care and aging, acutely ill and culturally diversifying population.
The nationwide shortage of nurses is being felt throughout South Florida and has furthered the challenges facing the staff and administration at Boca Raton Community Hospital. Multiple factors of demand, supply and the aging of the workforce have contributed to the stresses placed on the nursing profession.
The Ron & Kathy Assaf Center for Excellence in Nursing was established in 2002 to help attract and retain professional nurses, ensuring that Boca Raton Community Hospital is able to continue to provide quality, compassionate care today and for generations to come. The Center for Excellence in Nursing provides support for nursing professionals through career development opportunities, funds important programs and recognizes outstanding nursing staff and leaders.
The mission of the Center for Excellence in Nursing is to:
- Award outstanding nurses for their contributions to the profession
- Provide ongoing nursing education programs and advanced training
- Fund nursing scholarships and support for student nurses
- Promote nursing leadership
- Improve patient care by funding nursing-approved equipment and programs
- Implement innovative programs that benefit the nursing professionals, our patients and the community
- Attract and retain the very finest professionals in the nursing field
